Github Wiki complaint

Peter, all, I had a look at the Github wiki for PyBitmessage and it's a dog's breakfast. It is riddled with irrelevant, outdated, or simply incorrect information and a writing style (in some sections) so hard to follow it's almost nauseating. I will refrain from giving specific examples and instead will address the issue as a whole: I think the Wiki in its current state is a disservice to the project. I suggest removing all Wiki pages from public viewing for now, and work on it in a contributors-only mode (if possible, not sure if Github allows) until it actually contains some focused, informative and helpful content relevant to the PyBitmessage application usage and development, which right now is not the case at all. Until then, the bitmessage.org website is a perfectly acceptable source of information. Thank you.

clone the wiki and fork your own version

That was not a request for freedom of speech, it was a request for censorship KTHXBAI.

Requesting takedown of the entire wiki is overkill. Much of the information remains relevant.

It's OK, I have a reputation for outrageous requests. I appreciate that some of the information may be marginally relevant but still does not meet the minimum quality standards for public release. Please be my guest to pick one wiki page - any of the 8 of them - and defend it credibly. Ready? GO.

API reference what? :) LOL there is no such page on the Github Wiki. There is one on the bitmessage.org wiki, which again is a bit old, cloudflared, but otherwise OK. Not the subject of this complaint anyway. The complaint is specifically about the project wiki hosted on Github: https://github.com/Bitmessage/PyBitmessage/wiki - see thread subject again.

Can't you clone, edit, and push your edits of the github wiki?

I don't have time to deal with it and I can't open new registrations for the bitmessage.org wiki as that was misused for spam. It's public so you can edit/delete it yourself if you want. Peter Surda Bitmessage core developer
