Trayicon color...

Mar 7 11:50 [raw]

hello! since last update the tray icon is always red, independently if there are connections. The icon in the main window correctly shows yellow. And another issue that I see sometimes, also with former version: - I visit the lists of new messages and read and/or delete all of them - new messages: 0 restart Bitmessage - the line "new" is bold and an old number is listed beside - when I click on "new" the list is empty, and the state is corrected

Thank you, I'll create an issue on github. Peter Surda Bitmessage core developer

May you do Help -> Contact support and send to chan?

Mar 7 21:24 [raw]

Thank you. Is a little question allowed: Usually I don't read all messages in this channel. In the past I read some of those with interesting subjects and the most from your "From"-adress. Now I read them only by chance. Do you intentionally post with anonymous "From" now?

Mar 7 22:02 [raw]

My old address is considered compromised and I haven't yet fully implemented a new system. If you see someone posting from my old address, you should treat it with suspicion. There are now more urgent issues to solve and I'll deal with my BM identities later. It's not like I'm saying anything important (or at least things which can't be independently verified) in this chan so it shouldn't worry people too much. Peter Surda Bitmessage core developer

does your tray icon display a menu when you right click on it? the tray icon doesn't change color if it doesn't have a menu.

Mar 9 20:34 [raw]

Yes, the menu is there.

Mar 10 02:07 [raw]

does that menu show 'connected' if there are connections? does enabling "hide connection notifications" in settings cause the tray icon color to work correctly? you may need to go offline/online or restart Bitmessage to trigger a circumstance for the tray icon color to update in a timely manner

Mar 10 17:09 [raw]

Thank you! After enabling "hide connection notifications", menu shows "connected" and tray icon becomes yellow. Strange...

Mar 10 17:15 [raw]

It looks like some unhandled exception. Do you see some in your debug.log?

Mar 12 08:17 [raw]

There are always these lines: ERROR - SOCKS DNS resolving failed ERROR - C PoW test fail. WARNING - No indicator plugin found

Mar 12 16:31 [raw]

I ment something like CRITICAL - Unhandled exception Traceback (most recent call last): ...

Mar 14 08:51 [raw]

No, there aren't.

Mar 14 09:02 [raw]

Oh, for fucks sake, just uninstall and reinstall BM and it'll probably work fine after that!

Mar 14 10:57 [raw]

Hmm. Maybe not. Installing registers the notification plugins which might be where the bug is. However I'm unable to reproduce yet although my tests aren't exhaustive. Perhaps OP can reveal his platform and whether he runs from source, has installed BM, or uses the OSX/Windows binaries.

Mar 14 11:01 [raw]

Like I wrote it before. OP can do "Help -> Contact support" and send it to chan.

WOW PyQt on WinXP is a pain in the ass.

Mar 19 12:37 [raw]

My sole suggestion is about `winsound` package. Do you have it installed? Did you try ? I cannot reproduce the bug with it.

Mar 20 05:17 [raw]

winsound is part of Python on Windows. I don't think it can be independently installed/uninstalled. Also PyBitmessage has used winsound for years and its never been a problem. I think QSound might be the problem as that is new (to PyBitmessage)

Mar 20 12:07 [raw]

winsound.pyd and winsound.lib are there. I don't download and run a bitmessage...exe

Mar 20 12:12 [raw]

>I don't download and run a bitmessage...exe Then stop whining!

Mar 22 09:30 [raw]

Well, I checked it for several days on XP+SP3 and it works fine, even in portable mode. Try reinstalling windows, or switch to linux. Peter Surda Bitmessage core developer
