[chan] bitmessage

P.P.S. I am able to get text notation out: $ sql messages.dat 'select msgid from inbox where subject is "1234";' | xxd -p f063e5049ec4b2333ac5aa60d97ab5664297b427ba9678e015c2f52499af ddff0a I can't figure out what this is or why there are two lines.

The -p switch outputs 30 bytes (60 hex chars) per line by default. $ xxd -p -l 128 < /dev/urandom 150e03cb80c1f069aac4837003d14223e42899b9a6cb0df253fb0c29f873 978b0c4dbfb1da574587607c75fa33898da0f1f8ea9c3f061d0475b189e2 e0ddb606e0fb57bb9a109b762108af43741e8ff4c1f337563b82c5e74266 e9fdcd1765accd27670f48c094cbe2d09f84a32e6fc3b4d4e673f2bcc201 472917eaf55e4f14 Use the -c switch to control: $ xxd -p -c 32 -l 128 < /dev/urandom 150e03cb80c1f069aac4837003d14223e42899b9a6cb0df253fb0c29f873978b 0c4dbfb1da574587607c75fa33898da0f1f8ea9c3f061d0475b189e2e0ddb606 e0fb57bb9a109b762108af43741e8ff4c1f337563b82c5e74266e9fdcd1765ac cd27670f48c094cbe2d09f84a32e6fc3b4d4e673f2bcc201472917eaf55e4f14 Also xxd is converting the line feed(s) from sql which explains why you have 33 instead of just 32 bytes. msgid is 32 bytes: $ sql messages.dat 'select len(msgid) from inbox where subject is "1234";' 32 $ sql messages.dat 'select hex(msgid) from inbox where subject is "1234";' f063e5049ec4b2333ac5aa60d97ab5664297b427ba9678e015c2f52499afddff
