The MOST Important Truth For All Mankind http://www.auburn.edu/~allenkc/mostimp.html He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, To love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." But your iniquities [your sins] have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all. And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded. He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us. Now I declare to you, brothers, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you -- unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified. That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, they have become new. But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (Unless otherwise stated, Scripture quotations are from the World English Bible: Mic 6:8; Luke 10:27; Isa 59:2; 1 Tim 2:5-6; 1 John 3:23-24; 1 Cor 15:1-4; Acts 2:36; Rom 10:9-13; Rom 6:23; John 3:16; 2 Cor 5:17-20) Have you been reconciled to God? Have you received His salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord? If your answer to these questions is "NO" then ... Do you feel that you are separated from God, that He does not hear you, that He does not care for you, and that He does not love you? Do you feel that you have you fallen short, i.e missed the mark, of being what God intends for you to be and to do? Do you know that this is sin because it is transgression against God's moral and spiritual law? Do you know that it is sin that separates you from God (which is spiritual death), guilt, lack of peace, frustration, etc.? The "bad news" is that sin, which causes spiritual death, will keep you from being reconciled with God as long as you persist in it without forgiveness. The "good news" is that God does love you and that He has provided a way that your sins can be forgiven, and your separation from Him, your spiritual death can be healed. The way God has provided is through Christ Jesus Who gave Himself a ransom for all, and that "all" is "everyone" and it definitely includes you. Since God accepted this ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus by raising Jesus from the dead, God does hear you and will forgive you and save you from your sins, and from your spiritual death. This means that you will be reconcilled to Him. To receive the benefits of this ransom sacrifice, you must repent [change your direction, your ways and your thoughts, which are away from, and against Him, back toward Him] and believe ... that Christ died for your sins, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day. Because of your faith in believing this, Christ Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, will come into your heart and apply His ransom sacrifice, and cleanse you of your sins, and be your Savior and Lord, and end the separation between you and God. Do you believe this? Do you want to have your sins forgiven and be reconcilled to God? Then simply ... Pray to God in your own words (prayer is just talking to God). Confess that you have sinned and that you are truly sorry for it. Tell Him that you believe Christ died for your sins, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day. Tell Him that you accept Christ Jesus as your Savior and Lord and that you want Him to take control of your life. Thank him by faith for doing this! Here is a sample prayer which you might want to pray: "Dear God, I have sinned against you and I am truly sorry for it. I believe that Christ died for my sins, that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day. I accept Christ Jesus as my Savior and Lord and I want Him to come into my heart and life and take control of it. Thank you for doing this according to my faith and Your word! Amen." If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, please let us know that we may rejoice with you. We will be happy to assist you in growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
