I've read it online for years, that the Pascal programming language "is dead" or is a "kiddie teaching language." Recent surveys show that Pascal is the #9 most used programming language. It ranks higher in user base than Ruby, Go, and Swift. Pascal's greatest strength is its single-pass compiler that produces highly optimized bare metal machine code in a single pass. It puts all clang compilers to utter shame. Pascal has higher and better abstraction than C++ yet produces equally fast programs. It is almost as easy to program in as Python, but 20x to 100x times faster in execution than Python bytecode.
